Hubert B. Jones is a Member with Jones, Hamilton & Lay, PLC. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in December 1976 and has been associated with the firm since April 1977. Mr. Jones handles matters in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation, trusts and estates, wills and probate, insurance, health care law, and elder law. He was admitted to practice by the Tennessee Supreme Court in 1977. Mr. Jones has been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a Rule 31 Listed Mediator. Mr. Jones is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Dyer County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also a Fellow with the Tennessee Bar Foundation.
Mr. Jones is a member of First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg where he has served as Chairperson of the Administrative Board and on various other committees within the Church including Family Ministries and Evangelism and the Church Board of Trustees. He has been a member of the Dyersburg City School Board from 2001 to the present and was selected as a member of the All Tennessee School Board in 2009. He has served as a Director of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Union Mission from 1988 to the present and has also served in the capacity of President and now as Chairperson of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Union Mission. He is also a Director and President of Wesley-Asbury, Inc., a non-profit corporation that owns Canterbury Place, an assisted living facility in Dyersburg. He is a member of the Dyersburg Noon Rotary Club and served as President of the Club in 1997. He is a former Scoutmaster of Troop 87 BSA and a former Director of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, serving as Vice-President-Government Relations from 2004 until 2006.
